According to Albuquerque radio station ESPN 101.7 The Team, University of New Mexico defensive coordinator Rocky Long is leaving his position on Danny Gonzales’ staff to become the defensive coordinator at Syracuse.
An announcement is expected today.
Long is a former Lobo star quarterback and long-time Lobo head coach.
He left San Diego State as its head coach three years ago to join Gonzales’s staff, when the later was named head coach at UNM. Gonzales was a player and assistant under Long at UNM.
