ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (September 11, 2019) – Scores began to drop as players began to figure out Paradise Hills Golf Course at this year’s rendition of the New Mexico Open on Wednesday.
Solo leader Edward Olson, of Aptos, Calif., shot a 7-under-63 that included seven birdies and no bogeys. Olson leads the event by two strokes at 12 under heading into today’s final round of the 54-hole event.
The low round of the day was shared by a pair of former Colorado State players; Colton Yates and Blake Cannon, who each fired an 8-under-62.
Cannon is currently second and Yates is tied for
fourth.
Rio Rancho’s Timothy Madigan also caught fire Wednesday afternoon, with a 5-under-65 to follow up his first-round 68. Madigan moves to 7 under and is tied for sixth.
Defending champion Samuel Saunders of Albuquerque continued his solid play in the second round, shooting a 66 to move him to 6 under and six shots back.
