LEBANON — Enchantment Sports has learned that recent New Mexico Lobo men’s basketball player Karim Ezzeddine has signed a professional contract in Lebanon.

How did we learn this? He signed with my team (Champville) today (Feb. 16).

Ezzeddine played sparingly with the Lobo this season and he left the team before the start of the second semester. Ezzeddine and Cory Manigualt were called out by the Lobo coaching staff for improper behavior while they were on the bench during the Lobos’ loss at San Diego State.

Karim Ezzeddine, center of photo with hand on chin, watched a Lobo game from the stands last month after leaving the team.

Ezzeddine left for the locker room before the game ended, and left the team a few days later.

Ezzeddine averaged 4.3 points and 3.6 rebounds in 17 games as a Lobo. He averaged 17.1 minutes per game, but fewer than six minutes in three of his final four games with the team.

The 6-foot-9, 220-pound forward lists his hometown as France.

It’s great, because he is French and Lebanese, so he is a very valuable player in this league. He can play in the league as a local player, and with his size and skill he will help us a great deal.

I’ve talked to our coaches in Lebanon, and I’ll be taking Karim under my wing. It’s exciting for me to have another former Lobo on the team, and we can talk about all things Albuquerque.
