Our friends at 95.9/610 The Sports Animal are hosting their annual Bowl Bash at Sandia Resort and Casino on Super Sunday. Doors open Sunday at 2:00 P.M. in the grand ballroom. Special guests are former Dallas Cowboys Everson Walls, Billy Joe Dupree, and San Francisco 49er Dwight Hicks.
ESPN Radio 101.7 The TEAM is also hosting a Super Bowl party with Sandia at Sandia’s Thur Pa Lounge with a monster TV screen. Seats are limited. Cost is $15, which includes a buffet. Dupree, Walls and Hicks will all be interviewed at the event as well.
On Saturday night, Sandia had a VIP party with the Super Bowl champions and Enchantment Sports was invited, and met up with Everson Walls to talk about his career, changes in the NFL — and today’s game.
Walls played 13 years, mostly with the Cowboys, and finished his career with 57 interceptions. He had an NFL-high 11 during his rookie season with Dallas in 1981.
(Apologies for the camera work — I’m still a sports writer/broadcaster — not a social media iPhone expert. Walls, by the way, is one of the most humble, gracious and down-to-earth athletes I have ever interviewed — Mark Smith).
